One of our most import missions, and the original reason we were founded, is to support the mission of the Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District.
These brave men and women volunteer to protect our community and selflessly give their time to help make our community better.
We do all that we can to help them do what they need to.
The Umatilla Volunteer Firefighters Association (UVFA) was originally just the volunteers for the Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District (URFPD). They weren't officially organized as a separate organization, they were just going above and beyond firefighting duties.
Being in such a great community, our neighbors wanted a way to donate money and items to the fire department; but there was no tax benefit to that. So, in response to the community's needs, the volunteers formed a separate 501(c)(3) organization for people to be able to donate to and get a tax benefit as well.
Our organization kept doing more and more in the community, and now we've outgrown the abilities of just the volunteer firefighters. So in 2018 we rewrote our bylaws to allow members of the community to join us and help as well. Now, under our new combined community and firefighters structure, we're working to do even greater things in the community than we ever have before.
We're dedicated to helping out in the community, but we need your help. Please, if you can, join us and help us to help others.
