Who can become a member?
Any person, over 18 years old, who resides within the boundaries of the Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District and has a desire to help others. (Members of the Umatilla RFPD automatically qualify for membership.)
Why do I have to have a background check?
We work very closely with the Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District, including using their facilities and sometimes their vehicles. Due to the sensitive nature of the locations and experiences that you maybe exposed to, you'll need to meet the same background requirements as their members.
What will I be expected to do?
We perform all sorts of activities and functions. Some of them are more physically demanding, others are not demanding at all. Sometimes we are tarping grain, sometimes we are washing cars, sometimes we are walking the streets of Umatilla, and sometimes we're just wrapping presents. And, sometimes, we're just hanging out together and having a little fun. Whatever your abilities, we've got room for you.
